One thing missing from eCS is a utility to interface with hard drives
supporting S.M.A.R.T. technology, which most drives seem to do these
days. There is a small utility called SmartCtl co-authored by Dani &
Yuri Dario that provides som function in this area. The description
says that it will work with \"ATA-3 and later IDE drives\", but does
not mention SATA. I once had a version that I think I got from Dani
that would support SCSI drives, but I have lost that.
It would be nice to have such a utility with a GUI interface.
I believe that it would be a useful addition to eCS!

Let's include to eComStation CD1
- SQLite - so small/medium applications can use the databases, not
files or self-made databases.
a) other OSes have this database embedded
b) this is important for developers. This is essential requirement if we want to get new software.
Now the developers should invent own formats, organize own storage, implement own sorting.
This takes all time. If they know that every eCS is equipped with sqllite then they will use it.
1000 applications need small DB: PIM apps (Password manager, Address books), Math utils, Business utils, ......
Please improve the OS and include to CD1
- LVM and DASD updates to support drives > 512GB [*]
- Full XWP rather than the reduced eWP. [*]
- CUPS Printer support [**] -- it is planned to include it to eCS 2.1
