ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
Mark: Good I previously rated this board as "Very Bad", but that was when I tried to
use an IDE optical drive: I suspect that the driver included with eCS 2.0
does not work with the strange IDE chipset (combination IDE/Firewire).
Using an SATA optical drive I was able to install eCS 2.0GA; but note:
- I found that the old "genuine IBM" OS2APIC.PSD worked fine and enabled
all four cores of the AMD 965; I still haven't found ACPI.PSD parameters
that will enable me to use SMP mode.
- The native Realtek 8169 NIC driver works much better than the GenMac
"wrapper" version that the installer wanted to use.
- Neither Panorama nor the SNAP driver allows me to use the monitor's
1920x1080 mode (which works fine with Windows 7 on the same
motherboard): the max. is 1400x1050, which does not fill the screen.
But at least SNAP is faster. (This is using the on-board ATI Radeon
HD 4250 graphics.)
- The included version of UniAud produced looping desktop sounds, but
all seems to be well with the latest version.

Comments: Craig Colby 2011-04-22 22:30:27 | Ecs.ru has a beta of atombios called test60hz.sys. With it I have 1920x1080 on a ViewSonic 2250.
| Alan Beagley 2011-06-21 20:54:26 | test60hz.sys does change the resolution, but the image is still the same size: it does not fill my LG monitor's screen. I'm using an HDMI connection and have no idea whether it would work better with a vga connection. |
