I just installed eCS 1.2 on a T42p. Everything works (including suspend) except for the wireless NIC (an Intel 802.11b mini-PCI) and the winmodem. Only issues I have is with the stupid xp restore process which IBM has made overly difficult if the on disk service partition is hosed and the fact that xp seems to eat itself if it has only 6 or 8 GB of disk.

I also run eCS 1.2 on a T42p. However, I have a couple of problems: 1) After suspend some files in the LSS installation are usually corrupt requiring a re-install before I can use Organizer again. Are you also seeing this? 2) Do your system have a DVD burner? If so what software are you using with it?

As an update report. I am now running eCS 2.0 Beta2 on the T42p.

It boots with ACPI, and the battery widget works in eCenter, but I can't get it to suspend, just power off. And on battery it always says its set to Max performance no matter what I have set in the power properties. And it doesn't change manually either via the power display drop down menu.

The Intel 2100 Mini-PCI 802.11b wireless lan card works with the Genmac 1.7 wrapper driver.

A further update: I now have an Intel 2200bg wireless Mini-PCI card working with the GenMac 1.7 wrapper driver and xWLAN. See my article on this:

One addition to this article is that after a llot of problems with trying to get this card working it turned out you have to disable tthe Speedstep setting in the BIOS.
